National Ribbon Skirt Day

Canada

About

Observed January 4, National Ribbon Skirt Day celebrates Indigenous identity, culture, and resilience, symbolized by the ribbon skirt. Established by federal law in 2022, it was inspired by Isabella Kulak, a First Nations girl shamed for wearing her ribbon skirt to a school formal day.
